Transforming a Legacy ERP Platform into a Modern Digital Workplace on AWS

A leading enterprise software provider serving thousands of users across retail and manufacturing sectors approached us with the need to modernize their legacy on-premises ERP infrastructure. Their existing setup was rigid, expensive to maintain, and lacked the flexibility needed to support agile development, remote access, and scalable environments. Our mission was to design a secure, highly available, and automated Digital Workplace architecture on AWS that aligned with their performance and compliance goals.

We began with a comprehensive discovery phase, capturing system dependencies, user concurrency patterns, and performance bottlenecks. Based on these insights, we architected a multi-tier environment using Amazon EC2 for the application layer and Amazon RDS for the database layer, both deployed across multiple Availability Zones. We incorporated Auto Scaling, Application Load Balancers, and Route 53 to ensure fault tolerance and responsiveness. To meet DevOps requirements, we built out a complete CI/CD pipeline integrated with GitHub, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and SonarQube, enabling streamlined deployments across development, staging, and production environments.

Backup and disaster recovery were key priorities. We implemented automated RDS snapshots, point-in-time recovery, and cross-region replication of EC2 AMIs and backups, achieving an RPO of zero and RTO under 30 minutes. The environment was further reinforced with CloudWatch, AWS Config, GuardDuty, and Security Hub to provide real-time monitoring, compliance visibility, and automated alerts.

Following go-live, the customer experienced a measurable improvement in platform stability, deployment frequency, and developer productivity. With a cloud-native foundation now in place, they are well-positioned to evolve their workplace systems into an intelligent and adaptive digital ecosystem—fully powered by AWS.
